TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By Using SendParcel.africa, you agree to the following terms and Conditions

  1. Courier Fees

    Our courier fees are based on our exchange rate for the day, which is subject to change as circumstances may demand. All our charges are inclusive of a 7.5% VAT charge.

  2. Handling Charges

    The handling charge is payable per transaction and expires after one month if we have not received any parcel on your behalf during this period. At the expiration of one month from payment, it becomes non-refundable. If for instance, you shop from ten stores in one transaction the handling charge is N8,000 and entitles you to one home/office delivery provided that the items are received before our cargo departs the UK warehouse on Thursday from the date the first parcel is received. Parcels received after our cargo departs the UK on Thursday will attract additional handling charges. However, parcels received in our USA, China and Canada warehouse address 14th day after the first parcel was received will attract additional handling fee. Should a refund of the handling charge be required, a 30% deduction will be made before the refund is processed. Refunds on other payments made to J and O Express for any purpose will be made after deduction of all bank transfer charges.

  3. Minimum Weight

    In the event that your parcel is less than the prescribed minimum weight we will charge the cost for minimum weight as applicable. Please note that on our express shipment i.e. from two to five working days, the maximum weight per piece is 30kg while the maximum length admissible is 1 meter.

  4. Unpaid Shipment

    Storage charges will be levied on parcels whose delivery/pick up is delayed due to non-payment, insufficient delivery information and any other such reasons, as follows:
    10kg and below – N1000 per day
    Above 10kg – N3000 per day
    Items left in our office after 10 days of incurring storage charges will be put up for sale by way of auction to set off the debt owed to SendParcel.africa , after which the balance (if any) will be paid to the defaulting client.

  5. Parcel Insurance

    For insured parcels, all claims must be submitted in writing within 7 days from date that the delivery is complete, failing which SendParcel.africa shall have no liability.

  6. Weight Calculation

    Weights of parcels are calculated based on volume or actual weight, whichever is higher.

  7. Payments

    All payments due to J and O Express are required before delivery to your door or collection from our office.

  8. Pickup Operations

    J and O express offers pick up service with Lagos , Abuja and UK. Standard pickup: Pickup will occur anytime between 10:30am and 5pm, on Monday to Friday only. The parcels picked up will be received at our Lagos, Abuja or Uk office the same / following working day. Completion of the applicable form as well as payment of the handling and pickup charges must be received before this time.

  9. Company’s Quote Preparation

    For item(s) you would like us to order for you, please send us the links with sizes and quantities to enable us prepare a quote for purchase, as J and O Express will not be liable for items which you deem to be unsuitable for your purposes. The Naira equivalent of the total spend must be sent to us before the orders are placed. Once orders are placed order confirmations will be sent to you as evidence of your purchase(s). Receipts which are received in your parcels will be removed by J and O express for security reasons as they will contain our personal billing details.

  10. Order placing

    Should J and O Express place an order on your behalf from a store, J and O Express will not be responsible for any losses caused by your dealings with the store. However, we may process refunds and exchanges on your behalf, at additional charges using our J and O express globe service.

  11. Parcel Disclosure

    Clients are required to disclose the full contents of all parcels being sent as J and O express will not be responsible for loss or damage to undisclosed items such as fragile or luxury goods. Repackaging of items may be required and will attract an additional charge which depends on the size and type of repackaging required.

  12. Regulatory Matters

    All parcels received by J and O express are subject to being opened for controlled inspection as they make their way to you in and out of Nigeria. Edible items, furniture and other goods imported or exported may attract additional government levies including NAFDAC and Customs charges. Importation of items containing lithium batteries for instance will attract additional charges as they need to be handled as dangerous goods.

  13. Parcel Labelling

    J and O express will not be liable for the loss or misdirection of parcels that are not labelled as directed in our communication.

  14. Limitation Liability

    Regardless of who is at fault the liability of J and O is limited to N10,000 per transaction. If the Client regards this limit as insufficient the Client is required to make a special declaration of value and request additional insurance or the Client may make his or her own insurance arrangements. J and O express liability is strictly limited to direct loss and damage to physical items only. All other types of loss or damage are excluded (including but not limited to lost profits, income, interest, future business), whether such loss or damage is special or indirect, and even if the risk of such loss or damage was brought to J and O Express attention. We shall make every reasonable effort to deliver your shipment according to our advertised delivery schedules but this is not guaranteed as we will not be liable for any delay that we deem to have been beyond our control. Weekends, public holidays, delays caused by customs or by compliance with mandatory local security requirements or other events beyond our control are not included when we quote our delivery times.

  15. Weight Calculation

    All weights via our cargo shipping option either from Nigeria , USA, UK , CANADA and CHINA are approximated, so if your parcel is 3.4 for instance, this will be charged as 4kg .
